We cannot return to the old ways. Modernity has so fundamentally changed our lives to where we must redefine concepts
such as love, law, morality, taste,
art, and the meaning of life itself.
Is the glass half-empty or half-full? Neither. Any water whatsoever in the glass must be drained from time to time,
because if it sits, it will eventually become stagnant and poisonous, and filled with untruth. We must clear our heads
and sweep out the nonsense that collects, so we have a Tabula Rasa. Only then can we allow some more toxin into our
brains. Belief in anything is dangerous; it can accomplish great things or enact great horrors. Therefore, before
we go around believing in anything, we should damn know why we believe. We should not tell others to
believe, because life is large and complex and old, and we should not claim to say "I know" something unless that is the absolute,
objective truth. But because it is often too difficult or inconvenient for us to learn these truths, we hold onto fairy-tales
and myths, which become part of our culture, and leads to a loss of meaning and emptiness. Instead, it is all we can
do to remove the untruth, so that we are "available" for truth, and can recognize it..when it does appear to us.

Truth, not happiness, should be our goal. What deep happiness can there really be in a life based
on false hopes, illusions, religion, and fantasies? If we remove our egos from our debates, competitions,
strivings and dealings in this world, and we instead align ourselves with the TRUTH, we will realize that we are not threatened,
because truth is hard to threaten.
But if we align ourselves with our egos, then we are threatened at every turn, and will build a false life around our
fears and assumptions.
